Jenny worked at the YMCA for six years, a couple of years as a camp counselor and four years as the Youth and Teen Coordinator. After graduating from college with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, she worked as a 4th grade teacher of all subjects- reading, writing, math, science, and social studies in a Title I public school for six years. During her teaching time, she received her Master’s in Educational Leadership. She then moved to another Title I public school that was opening its doors for the first time, as a writing resource teacher for two years. After having her second child, she decided to stay home for four and a half years. She actually did STEM activities with her kids at home and learned a lot from the parenting side of life too. Earlier than expected, she returned to work because a friend shared with her about a local family literacy program, and she immediately fell in love with this concept. She worked for two years as the Family Literacy Coordinator at Achieve Plant City. Now she transitions into new territory, always seeking fresh experiences and growth opportunities. ACRES is her next challenge. She hopes to fulfill its mission and spread it throughout the entire state of Florida.
